Electrical Infrared Inspections

Electrical infrared inspections are used to identify problem areas in electrical systems and equipment. Electrical circuits and components break down for a variety of reasons. Whatever those reasons are - fatigue, defective components, contamination, or just loose connections - they will have a rise in temperature or "hot spot" prior to breakdown. Sophisticated infrared cameras, training and experience allow us to see these thermal signatures prior to break down. The client is then able to correct the issue before the "hot spot" becomes a major problem and costs the company thousands, if not millions of dollars.

Thermal inspections are used across a wide range of electrical applications:

  • Overhead Transmission Lines/Sub Stations/Transformers
  • Switchgear and Control Equipment
  • Distribution Panels
  • Circuit Breakers, Contacts and Connections
  • Electric Motors and Generators
  • UPS Discharge Monitoring
